Two South Australian women leaders in circular economy announced

Minister for Environment and Water David Speirs today announced that KESAB’s Grace Barilla, and East Waste’s Megan Bekesi, are joint winners for the Green Industries SA Women in Waste Leadership Award for 2020.

The award recognises the contribution of emerging and established women leaders who are making a positive contribution to South Australia’s waste and resource recovery industry and promoting the transition to the circular economy.

It has been established in memory of Pam Keating, a noted environmentalist and waste management expert who passionately believed in the importance of reducing waste and its impact on the environment.

“I am delighted to announce that the Green Industries SA Women in Waste Leadership Award is being presented to these two talented and passionate leaders who are driving change through household and school education programs in recycling and waste avoidance."
