Waste Levy
The Green Industry Fund is made up primarily of 50% of the levy paid by waste depot licence holders under the Environment Protection Act 1993.
The levy is collected by the Environment Protection Authority, and a portion is transferred to the Green Industries Fund, which Green Industries SA draws on to achieve its objectives.
The solid waste levy is as follows:
- metropolitan Adelaide from 30 June 2017 - $87 a tonne
- non-metropolitan Adelaide from 30 June 2017 - $43.50 a tonne.
The Government has announced that solid waste levy is intended to rise to the following rates per tonne:
