Green Industries SA (GISA) has awarded Distillers South Australia (DSA) $95,000 in grant funding, through the Lead-Educate-Assist-Promote (LEAP) program, for the delivery of A Pathway to Sustainability for the SA Distilling Sector, which will to support the sector’s transition to a circular economy.
This is in addition to the $100,000 in LEAP grant funding awarded to DSA in 2022–23 for the design and delivery of Boosting Sustainability for South Australian Distillers – a series of free, downloadable educational modules for distillers.
The new project will leverage the first, activating the training modules through a series of workshops, individual mentoring sessions, development of explainer videos, and the inclusion of a discussion panel to present the project’s findings at the 2025 and 2026 SA Distilling Industry Conference.
The distillery sector in South Australia is vibrant and growing, with more than 100 spirit producers contributing significantly to the state’s economy.
These projects will enable South Australian distillers to take immediate action towards investing in practical solutions to drive progress toward achieving sustainability and circularity.
