There are a number of centres across metro and regional South Australia where you can dispose of unwanted paint and household chemicals.

  • Brake fluid and coolants
  • Cleaning products
  • Engine oil and other oil
  • Fire extinguishers
  • Fumigants
  • Gardening chemicals (including pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, rodenticides)
  • Gas cylinders
  • Light globes
  • Liquid paints – oil and water-based up to 100 L
  • LPG bottles
  • Other household chemicals
  • Photographic chemicals
  • Poisons
  • Pool chemicals
  • Solvents (including paint thinners, turpentine)
  • Varnishes and stains
  • Ammunition or explosives – contact SA Police on 131 444
  • Asbestos and tyres – contact the EPA on 8204 2004
  • Fertiliser – use or donate to your local community garden
  • Pharmaceuticals – take to your pharmacy or Doctor, see for locations
  • Household smoke detectors – place in your waste bin

Opening hours: Monday to Friday 7 am to 4 pm, Saturday 8 am to 3 pm, and Sunday 10 am to 3 pm

Campbelltown Works Depot

Where: 6 Newton Road, Campbelltown

Opening hours: Monday to Friday 8 am to 3 pm 

NAWMA Resource Recovery Centre, Edinburgh North

Where: Gate 3, Bellchambers Road, Edinburgh North

Opening hours: Monday to Friday 8 am to 4pm, weekends 9 am to 3 pm

Heathfield Resource Recovery Centre

Where: 32 Scott Creek Road, Heathfield

Opening hours: Monday to Friday 7:30 am to 4 pm, weekends 9 am to 4 pm
