South Australian businesses and organisations can now apply for funding to help drive the state’s transition to a more circular economy, with Green Industries SA today opening applications for its Circular Business and Market Development Grants program.

The program supports projects that reduce waste, extend product life cycles and create new market opportunities through circular business models and innovation.

Grants are available to businesses, local authorities, industry groups, not-for-profit organisations, social enterprises and research institutions.

Eligible projects must support at least one of the 3 focus areas:

  • Focus area 1: Circular economy business models, solutions and practices that prioritise circular design, waste avoidance and reduction, reuse, repair and repurposing
  • Focus area 2: Refurbished/repaired and/or recycled content products
  • Focus area 3: Market development

Funding of up to $100,000 (GST exclusive) is available per project. Private sector applicants must match the grant with at least 50% of eligible costs (excluding in-kind contributions), while not-for-profit organisations, councils, industry associations and research institutes may receive between 50 and 100% funding support, with in-kind contributions considered.

Read the grant guidelines and download the application form.

Applications close at 5 pm on Friday 28 November.
