Recycling Modernisation Grant Program
Funding is available through the Australian Government’s $190 million Recycling Modernisation Fund to improve recycling outcomes and address critical gaps in Australia’s recycling infrastructure. The funding supports the waste export bans for plastic, paper, glass and tyres.
The South Australian Government has agreed to deliver the Recycling Modernisation Fund through a competitive grants funding program administered by Green Industries SA.
How much money is available?
Applications for Recycling Modernisation Fund grants from $500,000 to a maximum of $10,000,000 will be available, for large scale projects involving significant capital expenditure and of state significance.
Applicants are required to provide a minimum cash contribution of 50% of the requested grant amount.
Who can apply?
Private sector, non-government organisations and local government organisations can apply.
What will we fund?
The funding is to install infrastructure and provide innovative approaches to increase the supply of quality recycled materials available for use, and increase the capacity for domestic sorting, processing and manufacturing of materials affected by the waste export bans:
- mixed plastics
- single resin/polymer plastics
- unprocessed glass
- used tyres.
Projects must be carried out in South Australia.
What WON’T we fund?
Material streams / recyclables that are not the focus of this program are ineligible for funding.
