FAQs: Disposing of flood-affected materials

Are the free vouchers still available?

No, the free disposal voucher program ended on 31 July 2023.

How can I dispose of flood-affected materials?

Kerbside collections will continue until all flood-affected materials have been removed – no one will miss out.

To find out when a kerbside collection is happening in your area, call Johns Lyng Disaster Management Australia on 1800 418 491.

Where possible, please try and sort materials separately, keeping metals and e-waste separated. This will make the recovery and recycling of scrap metal more effective.

What other clean-up support is available?

The free vouchers were one of many measures to assist people impacted by flooding.

Other support includes kerbside waste collections, sandbag removal, structural assessments and, where required, hazard reduction and demolition.

To access this support you must register by 13 October 2023, by calling the State Relief and Recovery Infoline on 1800 302 787, Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.
